Mrs. Libby's Newsflash Homepage
Welcome, students and parents to Mrs. Libby's First Grade Class!
I have been teaching for 12 years. I have taught 6 years in Kindergarten and this is my 6th year teaching 1st grade. I am a very passionate, creative and driven educator. I thrive in teaching through technology. I also desire to empower and inspire all of my students to learn in an environment providing discovery, creativity, fun, discussion and interaction.
I am a mother of 2 boys, one is in 2nd grade and the other is in 4th. I love to travel and to be active in the outdoors such as hiking, boating, kayaking, biking, fishing, etc.
The theme in my classroom is....We are all FIREWORKS.
All of my students are colorful, special and unique, just like each and every firework.
Let your colors burst like fireworks!
I am looking forward to an exciting year with all of your fireworks. :)
It's a Pie in the Face Showdown! LOL

MORNING LINE UP:
On the first day of school, I will have a cone set up directly in front our classroom bungalow on the painted line of the Four Square in which the students should line up at during the 1st morning bell of 8:12 am.
PICK-UP:
Parents please line up along the rail on the outside of the ramp. I will bring the students out to the ramp and will ask you which child you are picking up (until I learn your faces) and dismiss one child at a time. Thank you for your patience. Stars and Boys and Girls club will be picking up students.
LUNCHES (12:05-12:50 pm):
If your child is buying lunch, each day is now $2.75. Please create an account or add to your account with Ms. Mercedes at the cafeteria before school. Thank you!
TARDIES:
Please if you arrive past 8:17, you will need to get a tardy slip from the office and turn in to me (or your child can turn it in to me) when they arrive in the classroom. If you, or your child, does not have a tardy slip from the office, I am required to send you (or the student) back to receive it.
ABSENCES:
I will need a written note collected from your child (within 3 days of the absence) in order to document the absence in our school system. A hard copy of your letter is more preferred than email so that if there is any confusion in the office, I can prove and clear the absence with that document. Absences that are excused are: illness of your child, medical appointments, or a death in the family. Thank you for your communication. If you will be out of town for a week or more, please give me one weeks notice so that I may prepare a homework/lesson packet for your child ahead of time.
